Navratri — the nine-night festival of Garba — is the most important cultural event in the Gujarati year, and weddings are not traditionally held during this period. The wedding season typically opens immediately after Navratri in October and runs through to Mahashivratri in February or March, with the most auspicious muhurtas falling in November, December, and January.
